What to do
I have an addiction to cookie dough. I would prefer to eat a bowl of dough rather than bake them. Cookie dough anything is delicious, but actual cookie dough before and while you are baking has to be one of the best things.
I have to admit something else. I'm incredibly impatient. Rather than cooking the rest of these snickerdoodles I decided to turn them into bars. I pulled out a loaf tin, put the remaining dough in and sat down to watch a movie. So now not only do we have cookies, but we have bars!
It needed a little extra flour and I under-baked them by quite a bit so that they could stay gooey and chewy and delicious. Next time you get bored, just throw your remaining dough in a tin and make some bars!
I've been playing with succulents for a while now, and while I might not be the best gardener, I do like decorating 'dem pots! A few poor little succulents haven't made it along the way though. It was pretty hard losing Fred. He was my first little guy, and I kept him alive for almost a year. But alas, he didn't like water and I was still learning.
Here's some handy succulent hints:
Look, this is really all I have so far. As I learn more I'll update you, or if you have some hints, please send them my way!
1. I used 2xcoat matte white spray paint from the local hardware store to seal and paint the terracotta pots. I paint the insides to seal them and stop moisture leaking out and ruining the outside designs. 2. I've used acrylic paint from the craft store to hand paint the designs on. I've kept it simple by using painters masking tape to get crisp lines. 3. If you are impatient like me, use your hairdryer to dry the layers (it only takes about 30 seconds per coat). For the gold, I did about 6 coats to ensure I didn't have any streaks.
TIP: If you want these to be weather proof, pick up a can of acrylic sealer spray from the hardware store (same place you got the white spray paint).
I'm sitting here, it's a Friday night, a little past 8pm. I'm full to the brim with pizza and rum and I'm listening to a lot of yelling and anger and unidentifiable mumbling. I'm sitting next to an angry man, angry because his team is playing quite bad. It's finals season and Geelong are playing Hawthorn. We want Geelong to win apparently. I just want to eat another slice of pizza without feeling ill.
So here we are, it's a little past 8pm on a Friday night. I'm starting a food blog. A place for me to experiment. A place for me to share my random thoughts. A place for me to share my passion.
I'm Jessica. I've always loved creating, crafting, cooking, and baking is my joy. This should be fun!
